polysumoylation

A post-translational modification consisting on the addition and covalent bonding of multiple SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifiers) proteins to lysine residues of target proteins, mediating a wide range of physiological functions. Polysumoylation of APP was found to reduce the generation of amyloid beta peptides, while mono or under-sumoylation enhance Ab generation.
