cis p-tau

The cis conformation of phosphorylated tau is considered to be the main pathogenic tau agent associated with AD neurological impairments. PIN1, a peptidyl-prolyl-cis-transe isomerase, catalizes the rotation of the peptidic bond directly before proline residues inducing a conversion toward the trans conformation, therefore reducing the presence of the pathogenic cis tau isomers.
